Happy 4th of July!
I can hardly believe it, it has been almost exactly a year since we released our first wine and committed our selves and our company to share 50% of our profits with Rescue Dog organizations. Over the past year we’ve been fortunate enough to work with and donate to some amazing organizations. (see a partial list here: https://rescuedogwines.com/How-We-Give )
We’ve also had the opportunity to pour our wine at many events and have been so grateful to meet some of the fantastic people who drink our wine and support our mission!.
If you remember, Laura and I started planning our new life in wine country about 3 years ago. We knew that we wanted to embrace sustainable growing practices and create a new, more rewarding lifestyle for ourselves. In addition, we knew that we wanted enough land to grow wine grapes AND foster dogs. In addition we knew that we wanted to create high quality, premium wines. During this period of exploration throughout many of California’s wine regions it dawned on us that we could combine our two passions and Rescue Dog Wines was born!
Once we had discovered the Lodi wine region two years ago we knew our quest was over. The people are friendly and helpful, the grapes numerous and high quality (something Napa winemakers have known for years) and the wines are absolutely fantastic! In other news our new vineyard is being trellised and soon to be planted (https://acampodeuvas.com/), We are also in the planning stages of turning our old barn warehouse into a tasting room. In addition, we plan on officially launching our next wine on Tuesday, July 9, a dry Pinot Noir based Rose’. Our commitment is still to give 50 percent of our profits to rescue dog and charity organizations, and continue to review and improve our wines on a continuous basis.
